classification of main accounts in d365 F & O

 classification of main accounts:


 Asset   account                    liability account                    Expense   account                     Revenue account

100000-199999                    200000-299999                        300000-399999                      400000-499999


All Asset accounts should have a specific mandatory financial dimension which is a cost centre.

All Liability accounts don't need any specific dimensions

All Expense accounts should have a specific mandatory financial dimension which is a Department.

All Revenue accounts should have a specific mandatory financial dimensions which is a Department and Branch to post anything into revenue account.


To navigate to account structure here is the path :

General ledger -> chart of accounts -> structures -> configure account structures
